The major goal of the Opening Forum of the New Stage is presentation of the theatre and cultural complex of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. On May 15, public will enter its premises for the first time; this is why a tour around the new building, its theatre halls, auditoriums, and studios will make an important part of the opening; there will also be presented projects of young directors from Andrey Moguchy’s creative laboratory. These performances interpret motives of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment. The core of the experiment was implantation of the painful and bleeding Dostoyevsky’s ideas in the matrix of the internet in order to try and actualize them in the modern media world. According to the creators’ idea, this should give a new life to these ideas. To achieve this, new technologies and all technical capacities of the New Stage will be used. For the whole day, lectures, performances, presentations will be taking place; the first night of A. Manotskov’s opera The Prophets will conclude the day.

This minute, a series of bright images and hectic thoughts flew before his mind. With the help of new technologies, the AXE Theatre is making an attempt of the space and time deformation.

The Skype Theatre. Virtual and real public and an actress… It is not always clear at the Skype Theatre who is watching whom. The internet, as well as our world, is cruel and not safe; it is hard to stay innocent and honest in it at all times. However, in the course of the performance, the heroine – a modern Sonya Marmeladova – conquers her weaker self and, that is, the entire world. Questions about “a tear of a child” and “what will save the world” were taken off the table.

Not only Raskolnikov is capable of a murder. Each one can kill. Life might become so intolerable that a murder might turn into the only way out. But how fair is this in regards of the slain? The Director, contemplating on the issue, gives the public a chance to be present at the creation of a new reality, the reality of the cinema. An actor is playing his role on the background of a chromakey, while, at that very moment, he is already existing in some other reality on the screen… Guilt and fairness, the victim and the headman: all this turns illusory at some point.
