Maria Lugovaya graduated from the St. Petersburg State Academy in 2008 (Professor S.Y. Spivak’s class).  In N. Bayer’s diploma performance “An Accident in the Subway” she played the role of Alice.

Lugovaya was admitted to the Alexandrinsky Theater in 2009.  Prior to formal admittance, she debuted on the Alexandrinsky Stage as a guest actress in the role of Sasha in the performance “The Living Corps” by L. Tolstoy (2008). The actress’s repertoire includes the role of the Grand Daughter in the performance “Ksenia. The History of Love” by V. Levanov (Director Valery Fokin, 2009). 

The actress’s repertoire includes the role of Granddaughter in the performance Ksenia. The History of Love by V. Levanov (Director Valery Fokin, 2009) and the role of Victoria è in the performance Vampilov. Plays (Director Oleg Yeremin, 2009).

She also was in television series “Favorsky,” “Junkers,” “Sea Devils,” “The Era of Archer-1,” “The Era of Archer-2,” “Hounds,” “1814,” “Who Was Shakespeare,” “Kamenskaya-5,” and “The Red.”   

 In the performance “The Taming of the Shrew” by W. Shakespeare (Director Oskaras Korshunovas, 2010) she is playing an actress from the Lord’s troupe assuming the role of the beautiful Bianca, junior sister of the obstinate Katharine. In Andrey Moguchy and K. Filippov’s performance “The Fortune” she plays the role of Frosya-the-cat, bringing Blue Birds to the Queen of the Night (Director Andrey Moguchy, 2011).

In 2011, the actress was nominated for the prestigious St. Petersburg Youth Theater “Breakthrough” Award in the nomination of “The Best Secondary Role.”  In the new performance  “Hedda Gabler” by H. Ibsen she is playing the major role (Director K. Ginkas, 2011).
