A graduate of the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinema (1975, Z. Korogodsky’s course), Nemzer was admitted to the Leningrad Drama and Comedy Theater in Liteiny (now the Theater in Liteiny) right after graduation. In the years of her work at the theater, she had played more than 20 roles. These included: Martha (“Rose Bernd,” G. Hauptmann, Director L. Dodin), Pippi (Pippi Longstocking” by A. Lindgren, Director M. Levshin), Olga (“Night Amusements” by V. Merezhko, Director A. Katz), Alice Florinskaya (“A Plush Monkey in the Child’s Bed” by M. Yablonskaya, Director L. Erenburg), Martha (“The Widow from Valencia” by Lope de Vega, Director Ya. Khamarmer), Natasha (“A City Romance” by M. Ugarov, Director A. Galibin); Eliza (“The Miser” by Moliere, Director G. Trisryanetsky); Bela Berlo (“Lost in the Stars” by K. Levin, Director G. Dityatkovsky); Priscilla (“The Theater of Chimaeras” by X.S. Sinisterra, Director M. Bychkov); Zinaida Raikh (“Love and Death of Zinaida Raikh” by V. Semenovsky, Director I. Larin); Iocasta (“Oedipus Rex” by Sophocles, Director A. Prikotenko); etc. Elena Nemzer was honored with “The Best Actress – 1982” Award for the role of Eva Lotta in the performance “Detective or Nobody” by A. Lindgren (Director Yu. Anikeyev). Elena Nemzer is not just an actress, but a talented artist working in various genres. Several performances were decorated after her sketches at the Theater in Liteiny: “The Role,” “Farewell, Judah,” “A Plush Monkey in the Child’s Bed,” and the program of “The Greeting Harp” performance (Director A. Galibin). In 1996, Elena Nemzer was granted the title of Distinguished Artist of Russia.
She played for the first time at the Alexandrinsky Theater as a guest actress in the performance Flowers for Charley by D. Keyes (Director I. Sakayev, 2007), where she played the role of Charley’s Mother. In December 2008, she was admitted to the theater’s company. She debuted on the big stage in the performance Ksenia. The History of Love by V. Levanov (Director Valery Fokin, 2009). The actress’s repertoire also includes the role of Lidia Astafieva, a character of Alexander Vampilov’s play A House with Windows on the Field. This play by Vampilov became a part of the Vampilov. Plays performance created by young Director Oleg Eremin after Alexander Vampilov’s early writings The Unparagoned Nakonechnikov, A House with Windows on the Field, and The Crow’s Grove. In Andrey Moguchy and K. Filippov’s performance “The Fortune” she plays the role of the first Father Frost (Director Andrey Moguchy, 2011)
