In 1996 Ivan Parshin graduated from St. Petersburg State Theatre Arts Academy (Professor Dmitry Astrakhan’s studio). For the first time Ivan came onto the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre in 1995. Among the characters played by him during that period there were: Florizel (The Winter’s Tale, W. Shakespeare, 1995 ), Atos (Milady, directed by S. Milyaeva, 1996), grandee (Hamlet W. Shakespeare, directed by R. Griaev, 1997), Ivan Bolshoi Afanasiev (The Tale about the Tsar Peter and His Slain Son Alexis, F. Gorenshtein, directed by A. Galibin, 1997), Karela (Boris Godunov, A. S. Pushkin, directed by A. Sagalchik, 1999), Prince Gvidon (The Tale of Tsar Saltan, A.S.Pushkin, directed by V.Golub, 1999), the servant (Don Juan, Molière, directed by G. Trostyanetsky, 2001), Egor Glumov (There Are Enough Common People for Every Wiseman, A. N. Ostrovsky, directed by V. Golub, 2002), Mishka (The Inspector-General, N. V. Gogol, directed by V.Fokin, 2003), Ronny (Out of order, R. Kuni, directed by Golub, 2003), inquisitor’s assistant (The Living Corpse, Leo Tolstoy, directed by V. Fokin, 2006).
Presently, the actor’s repertoire includes the roles of: Mishka (The Inspector General by N. Gogol, Director Valery Fokin, 2002); Assistant to Court Investigator (The Living Corps by L. Tolstoy, Director Valery Fokin, 2006); Stepan, Podkolyosin’s Valet (The Marriage by N. Gogol, Director Valery Fokin, 2008). In Andrey Moguchy and K. Filippov’s performance “The Fortune” he is engaged in mass scenes (nurses, ambulance doctors, bird-headed servants of the Night) (Director Andrey Moguchy, 2011).
Ivan Parshin starred in You are my only one (directed by D. Astrakhan), In the shooting solitude (directed by V. Hotinenko, 1986), Love is blind (directed by V. Zaikin, 1998), Own alien life (aka Svoya chuzhaya zhizn, directed by A. Rogozhkin, 2004), “Devilfish” (directed by A. Prazdnikov, K. Kapiza, 2005) etc.
He also took part in a DVD-project ‘P. P. Bazhov tales’ The Stone Flower and Malachite Box (2002).
