Actress

Marina Roslova graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music, and Cinematography named after N. Cherkasov ((professor I.Gorbachev’s class) in 1983. After graduation she was admitted to the theater troupe. After a few bit part roles she played her first major role of Baroness de Nucingen in the “Father Goriot” by O. de Balsac (1984). Temperamental and bright, with beautiful strong voice and perfect looks, Marina Roslova played the most diverse roles: from a merchant’s wife Belotelova in A. Ostrovsky’s comedy “Balzaminov’s Marriage” (1984) to Marina and Akulina in L.Tolstoy’s drama “The Power of Darkness” (1986); from Ganka in a vulgar tragic comedy “”Pani Dulskaya’a Moral” by G. Zapolskaya (1987) to Raisa Filippovna and Zinka Pas d’Espagne in N. Erdman’s comedy “Suicide” (1988). In Marina Roslova’s following repertoire character roles appeared more and more frequently; they required sharp stage pattern from the actress. Among these roles are a seductive warrior Lisistrata in Aristophanes’ comedy with the same name (1990), Matron Larisa Pavlovna in K. Kreilis-Petrova’s play “Where Is My Place…” (1991), Laura Varn? in A. Christie’s detective story “A Murder in Namur” (1991), Genevieva in the comedy “Blaise” by C. Magnier (1992), merchant’s daughter in A. Ostrovsky’s comedy “You Get What You Go for” (“Pictures of Moscow Life,” director Vladimir Golub, 1993), expressive and temperamental Saracen girl in “A Cap with Jingles” by Pirandello, director Vladimir Vorobiev (1993), Woe-Misfortune in S. Marshak’s fairy tale “No Luck for Those Afraid of Woes” (director Nora Reichshtein, 1994), artful companion Vasilisa Perigrinovna (“Protege? of a Mistress” by A. Ostrovsky, director Alexander Galibin, 1995), a mannered nob lady in B. Shaw’scomedy “Pygmallion” (director Alexander Belinsky, 1998), treacherous and envious Weaver in A. Pushkin’s “Fairy Tale about Tzar Saltan” (director Vladimir Golub, 1999), na?ve peasant Maturina in Moliere’ comedy “Don Juan” (director Gennady Trostyanetsky, 2000), capricious Primadonna Lebed-Lebedinskaya in A. Belinsky’s vaudeville “A Pair of Chestnuts” (2000). In the years of her work at the theater, Marina Roslova played more than 40 roles. 

Presently, the actress is engaged in Valery Fokin’s performances The Double after F. Dostoyevsky, where she plays the role of the Official’s Wife (2005); she is also engaged in mass scenes in the performance Ksenia. The History of Love by V. Levanov (2009). She is engaged in the group scenes of W.Shakespeare's Hamlet (Director Valery Fokin, 2010).
