IRINA LEPESHENKOVA’S ARTISTIC ANNIVERSARY
On September 10, Honoured Artist of Russia Irina Alexandrovna Lepeshenkova celebrates an artistic anniversary – fifty-five years on stage of Alexandrinsky Theatre.
Irina Lepeshenkova was accepted into a company of Leningrad Pushkin Academic Drama Theatre in 1962. She played more than ninety characters throughout her career, among them are: Empress (‘The Captain's Daughter’ by A. Pushkin; 1995), Anfisa (‘Three Sisters’ by A. Chekhov; 1998); Miss Crawley (‘Vanity Fair’ by W. Thackeray; 2003), Nanny (‘The Living Corpse’ by L. Tolstoy; 2006); Grandgrandmother Vilya (‘Happiness’ by A. Moguchy and K. Filippov; 2011), the Old Woman (‘Masquerade. Remembrance of the future’ based on Mikhail Lermontov’s drama “Masquerade” and the 1917 performance by Vsevolod Meyerhold; 2014), Nanny (‘The Third Choice’, a revised ‘The Living Corpse’; 2015) and many more.
