Members of creative team told the story of ‘Masquerade’ staging in 1917 and how its reflections in modern performance. Among the speakers: theatre historian and expert Alexander Chepurov, director of music and intonation score Ivan Blagoder, composer Alexander Bakshi and scenic designer Semyon Pastukh.
Composer Sergey Nevsky and musical and theatre critic Dmitry Renansky talked about the role of music in the performance, while art historians Yulia Demidenko and Natalya Makerova (a Director of Vsevolod Meyerhold Apartment Museum, Moscow) discussed the artistic heritage of prominent Russian artist and stage designer Aleksander Yakovlevich Golovin and the role of visual design for the performance.
