
Theatre Director
Jean Bellorini is a French theatre director and an Artistic Director of the Centre Dramatique National and Le Theatre Gerard Philipe de Saint-Denis since 2014.
Born in 1981. His professional education began in Ecole Claude Mathieu (Paris, France). Among his productions a few are based on works of Russian drama and fiction: Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Seagull’ (2001) and ‘Uncle Vanya’ (2006), Nikolai Erdman’s ‘The Suicide’ (Berliner Ensemble theatre; 2016), ‘The Karamazovs’ (based on the novel by F. Dostoevsky - Festival d'Avignon; 2016).
Jean Bellorini’s first staging in Russia is ‘Krum’ (Alexandrinsky Theatre; 2017), based on a play by Israeli poet and dramatist Hanoch Levin.
