The beginning of the 20th century was an epoch of general social revolutions. It was during this period that the romantic form of thinking was born and strengthened in Azerbaijani literature. The dramaturgy of Huseyn Javid, Azerbaijani poet, writer and playwright, founder and leading representative of the literary trend of romanticism in Azerbaijani literature, is built not on immediate plots and conflicts, but on the basis of global, cosmic, universal ideas. The dramas of G. Javid, the brightest representative of Azerbaijani romanticism of the 20th century, marked a new stage in Azerbaijani dramaturgy in terms of style, presentation and novelty of form. His philosophical and historical tragedies had a significant impact on the development of national theater culture, which in due time contributed to the creation of "Javid's theater", its development and deepening in this vein.
The theme of Iblis (devil), widely studied and attracting attention both in the West and in the East, in the work of Huseyn Javid is solved in the framework of the divine concept. Huseyn Javid reveals the essence of man, devil and God in a peculiar form. His ideas about man, devil and God run "red thread" through the whole work of the playwright, they contain all the power and essence of his dramaturgy.
The new production can be considered a deconstruction of Huseyn Javid's "Iblis". The play "Iblis and..." is based on the play "Iblis". It is a play in four acts (one-act metadrama in deconstruction), the plot of which centers exclusively on the relationship between God-Iblis and man. Iblis is the target, and the factor generated by him is directed at man. In other words, the play Iblis depicts the fate of people who have sold their souls to the devil. And in this is the victory of Iblis.
The doubts that arise in the soul of the philosophically minded Arif, suffocating in worldly injustice, the lust and desire for wealth latent in him, the restless spirit of the Oriental man confront him with the dilemma of the life he lives and dreams of. A man emptied from within attracts Iblis.
The perfect man presented by the Almighty, Arif, ends up selling his soul to the devil to satisfy his desires and the model of the perfect man is destroyed.
Iblis proves to God his righteousness in his struggle with man, which is the reason for his exile on Earth.
