MY BEING AN ACTOR
12+

The fifth one-man performance of the Monologues at the Tsar’s Lobby cycle

Main Stage, Tzar's Lobby
1h.
Without intermission

VLADIMIR LISETSKY

Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation

My Being an Actor is a one-man performance by the Honoured Artist of Russia Vladimir Lisetsky. It continues the Monologues at the Tsar’s Lobby cycle.

My Being an Actor is a lyric story, now funny then sad, a sketch of a provincial artist’s life in the Сzarist Russia.

This performance is based on an eponymously-named story by A.I. Kuprin, a classic Russian author. It is intended for a wide range of spectators and Russian literature lovers – from young theatergoers to the experienced devotees of classic theatre. Vladimir Lisetsky, a coryphée of Alexandrinsky’s stage, telling the story as a narrator, gives the audience a chance to get more fully acquainted with the works of Kuprin, an amazing Russian writer, and feel the magic of the Russian School of Performance.

The first night took place on the 7th January 2016

Media about the

The Director took serious risk eliminating the illusory history of mankind and getting rid of the external similarity in causes of actions and rationale of the characters … The performance managed to reflect in its own way the scary moment the world lives in: those things that used to seem the course of history turned into metaphysics.

Elimination of the illusory history of mankind
