The play by Armen Elbakyan, Artistic Director of the Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theater, the leading theater of Armenia, is based on Ken Kesey's novel "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". It is a story of a man rebelling against a sick reality. To avoid prison, Randle Patrick McMurphy pretends to be insane and ends up in a mental hospital. He is perplexed as to why the patients put up with the rules set by head nurse Ratched. McMurphy decides to change the lives of the patients and begins to rebel against those here. But many dwell here of their own free will, fleeing from the outside world. Before the audience unfolds the stories of mutilated destinies. And if you look around, there are not a few of them in real life.

The main question of the play is whether we are ready to make a step towards salvation, to accept the hand of help extended to us, to throw off voluntarily accepted fetters. And what awaits the one who, even realizing that he is burning himself, is still ready to bring light.
