‘Russia In A. Alphabet’ is a fair-like performance, requiring specific declamation, specific text, specific music. This is the reason why ‘Russia In A. Alphabet’ is accompanied by selected tracks from ‘The Soldier's Tale’ by Igor Stravinsky. This opus corresponds to the aesthetics of fair, bazaar, street theatre.
‘Russia In A. Alphabet’ is a set of short poems, dedicated to each letter of the Russian alphabet. This production hails the very inscription of letters, embodied in the art of calligraphy.
TRU Theatre was formed in 2010 of Aleksander Artyomov and Dmitry Jushkov, who met behind closed doors of Andrei Moguchy’s master-class. TRU Theatre peculiar artistic feature is arrangement of scenic action in accordance with laws of musical composition, when rhythm, individual actor’s melodic score, essential repetitions dominate the action. Founders of TRU Theatre define their artistic approach as ‘intellectual underground’.
