Ada Luana is an actress, theater director and playwright, engaged in compositional stage studies at the Graduate School of Performing Arts of the University of Brazil. Her research focuses on women's stage text in contemporary theater. After receiving her Bachelor's degree in Theater Arts from the University of Brazil (in 2006), she completed her Master's degree in Theater Studies at the University of Paris III "New Sorbonne" (in 2016), where she studied the dissemination and implementation of Stanislavski's system in Brazilian theater.
In 2008, Ada co-founded the theater company Setor de Areas Isoladas (Brazil), where she is currently working on a trilogy in honor of the great Russian writer Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. The aim of the project is to offer the public a female contemporary Brazilian perspective on the work of the Russian playwright. The trilogy consists of the performances "To Moscow! Palimpsest" (2017) based on the classic play "Three Sisters", "Jupiter and the Seagull. It is impossible to live without theater!", a new reading of "The Seagull" (2024), and "Bring the Horses!" based on the plays "The Cherry Orchard" and "Uncle Vanya" (premiere date is still unknown).
The XV Alexandrinsky International Festival will feature a performance by the Setor De Areas Isoladas theater company "Jupiter and the Seagull" staged by Ada Luana (September 20 and 21, 2024. The main stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater).
