Beijing People’s Art Theatre (BPAT) is a world-known professional theatre with a unique style of performing. It was established in 1952 by dramatist Cao Yu. Its repertoire is based on compositions of ancient and contemporary Chinese authors; the theatre also appeals to international drama. The Theatre has established the famous “Beijing People’s Artistic School of Drama” ; it also has an experimental stage in operation. In 2007, the Museum of People’s Art Theatre was established in Beijing. In June 2012, the Theatre celebrated its 60th birthday; the same year, the People’s Art Center was established in the Huairou District of Beijing.

At the Tenth International Alexandrinsky Festival, Beijing People’s Art Theatre will present its performance after Guo Cihong’s script Bosom Friends (September 16, 17, and 18 at 19.00; Major Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre).
