Theater, film and television director, producer, artist and teacher. Creator of the first independent theater group in the USSR "Teatr Teatr" (1985). One of the founders of the "parallel cinema" movement (1986). Author of the following films: "Videoromance in 1000 tapes. Crazy Prince" (1986-1993), "Yes! Downs..." (1997), "Edification" (2017), etc.
Author and director of the theater projects "Laboratory of Angelic Directing" (2002-2004) and "LABATORY. Golem" (2002-2009), etc.
Among the productions: the project "GARDEN" (1990-2001), the play-reconstruction of D.I. Fonvizin's "Nedorosl" (1999), "Faust" (1999-2008), "The Steadfast Principle", first edition (2013).
Since 2013 he has been the artistic director of the Stanislavsky Electric Theater. Yukhananov's productions at the Electrotheater include the five-day opera series "The Sverlians", the three-day "The Blue Bird" based on Maurice Maeterlinck's play and the memoirs of the theater's oldest actors, the two-part play "The Persistent Principle" based on Pedro Calderon's "The Persistent Prince" and Alexander Pushkin's "A Feast During the Plague", "Galileo. Opera for Violin and Scientist" and new-process projects: five-day "The Golden Donkey. Unlocked Space of Work" and a six-day one - "Orphic Games. Punk Macrame." He directed the opera "Octavia. Trepanation" (composer Dmitry Kurlyandsky), which premiered at the Holland Festival in June 2017.
At the XII International Alexandrinsky Festival, New Stage presented performances of Galileo (September 22 and 23, 2018) and The Sverlians (September 25 and 26, 2018).
