Diana Vishneva was born in St. Petersburg. At the age of six she started dancing in the choreographic studio and in 1987 entered the Agrippina Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. In 1994, the promising student went to Lausanne to take part in the world famous competition "Prix de Lausanne." This international competition takes place annually in the Swiss city of Lausanne and at present has a reputation as the most prestigious contest for young ballet dancers from all over the world. Nobody has yet received this high prize.
Diana Vishneva combined her last studying year with a probation period in the Mariinsky Theater, where in 1995 she was given solo roles. Since then, Vishneva’s repertoire is presented by all starring the world of ballet with the choreography of Petipa and Fokin, Balanchin and Neumeier, Ashton and MacMillan, Alonso and Grigorovich, Bejar and Petit, Preljocaj, and Ratmansky, the classical repertoire of Nureyev, Makarova, Malakhov and Bart.
The international career of Vishneva as a guest soloist in foreign theaters began in 2001 when she performed in the ballet "Manon" with the Bavarian State Ballet troupe (Munich) and in "Sleeping Beauty" with La Scala Ballet Company in Milan. In 2002, a debut at the Berlin Staatsoper ("Giselle and "La Bayadere"). In the same year Diana Vishneva made her debut at the Paris Grand d'Opera ("Don Quixote"), where she dance in the future with success all principal roles in ballets "Rubies," "Manon" and "Swan Lake". In 2000 in the Mariinsky Theatre, Vishneva made her debut at London's Royal Opera House in Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty". Since 2005, Diana Vishneva performs with the troupe of American Ballet Theatre in New York in the status of the leading theater prima. In 2011, Diana Vishneva presented the work with companies of Edouard Lock and Martha Graham.
Diana Vishneva’s talent was noted by numerous prizes and awards, among them the title of People's Artist of Russia and State Prize winner, the prize is "The Divine", a prize Benois de la dance, "Golden Soffit prize", "Soul of Dance" in the category "Queen of the Dance", a prize the best dancer in Europe, four "Golden Mask" prizes, "Ballerina of decade" and many others.
At the Sixth Alexandrinsky International Theater Festival on September 21 and 22, 2011, Diana Vishneva performed in the play "A New Work by Eduard Lock with Diana Vishneva". (La La La Human Steps, Canada)
