Kama Mironovich Ginkas is a director, born in 1941. Graduated from the LGITMiK (course of G. Tovstonogov) in 1967. He made his debut in Riga with the performance "Traditional Gathering" based on the play by V. Rozov. For two years he directed the Youth Theater in Krasnoyarsk, then returned to Leningrad ("Monologue on Marriage" by E. Radzinsky, "Kingdom of the Earth" by T. Williams, "Pushkin and Natalie"). Since 1981 works in Moscow: "Wagon" N. Pavlova, "Toastmaster" A. Galin (Moscow Art Theater); "Five Corners" S. Kokovkin and "Gedda Gabler" G. Ibsen (Mossovet Theater); "Blonde" A. Volodin (GITIS). Volodin (GITIS); "Laughing Room" by O. Bogayev (in the theater under the direction of O. Tabakov), film version of M. Neelova's mono-performance "Count Nulin" by Alexander Pushkin.
Since 1988 he has been constantly cooperating with the MTYUZ.
In 2001 the production of the Musical Mystery (composer A. Bakshi) "Polyphony of the World" was realized with the participation of world stars - Gidon Kremer, Percussion de Strasbourg, Kremerat Baltica, performers of ethnic music and jazz from the USA, Australia, Germany, Russia, Armenia.
K. Ginkas's productions have repeatedly represented Russian theater art at international festivals in the USA, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Finland, Yugoslavia, Turkey, France, South Korea, Brazil, Colombia and others.

Chekhov, "The Idiot" and "Crime and Punishment" by F. M. Dostoevsky, "Macbeth" by W. Shakespeare (Finland); "Lady with a Dog" (American Repertory Theater and the theater "Guthrie" USA).
К. Ginkas is a winner of theater awards: К. С. Stanislavsky Prize, Mikhail Tumanishvili Prize "For Excellence in Art", Triumph Prize, Golden Mask, Seagull, Crystal Turandot, Georgy Tovstonogov Prize. Georgy Tovstonogov.
К. Ginkas is a professor and course director at the Higher School of Stage Arts (Konstantin Raikin Theater School). He has given master classes at the Royal Shakespeare Theater in Stratford-upon-Avon, Nottingham (England); Oslo (Norway); Helsinki (Finland), Toronto (Canada), New Haven (USA), and the Paris Conservatory (France).
In 2003 he was awarded the title "People's Artist of Russia".
Kama Ginkas is a laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation.
As part of the VI International Festival "Alexandrinsky" in 2011 was shown Kama Ginkas's play "Gedda Gabler", staged on the historical stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre (October 8 and 9, 2011).
