French choreographer and dancer of Algerian origin, whose work is firmly embedded in the panorama of European contemporary dance.
After graduating from the National Center for Contemporary Dance in Angers in 1992, he worked as a choreographer and dancer in France and abroad with such renowned choreographers and artists in the world of contemporary dance as Meg Stuart, Emmanuel Huynh, Odile Duboc, Hervé Robbe, Alain Bouffard. In 1996, he created the company End of November with Julie Nioche.
In 2007, he founded the company L'A. with a group of dancers and artists.
R. Ouramdane and his team declare that L'A. - Is an artistic reflection of their actual identity. Right now, L'A. - is 20 artists who participate in Ouramdane's various productions.
As a guest choreographer, Rachid Ouramdane has worked with theaters and interdisciplinary venues such as Manège de Reims (2000-2004.), La Menagerie de verre in Paris (2005-2007.), and Theatre 2 in Gennevilliers (2007-2010.). Now, in this capacity, he collaborates with the National Stage in Annecy (since 2005) and with the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris (since 2010).
Rashid Ouramdane's Sfumato (October 7 and 8, 2015. New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre) was presented at the Ninth International Alexandrinsky Theatre Festival.
