Temple Independent Theatre Company, founded by Ahmed El Attar and his associates in 1993 in Cairo, works towards the creation of a new Egyptian theater, relevant in content and developing modern forms.
Among the best known projects are: "Life is Beautiful or Waiting for My Uncle from America" (2000); the moving bus performance "On the Road to Nowhere; A Cairo Journey for Tourists and Lovers" (2001); and the dynamic multimedia performance "Mama, I Want to be a Millionaire," which premiered in 2005 at one of Europe's largest theater festivals, Festespiele Berlin; "F ** K Darwin or How I Learned to Love Socialism" (2007); "On the Importance of Being an Arab" (2009), balancing on the border between a dramatic performance and a visual installation.
TEMPLE INDEPENDENT THEATRE COMPANY's "The Last Supper" directed by Ahmed El Attar was presented at the XI International Alexandrinsky Festival (September 23, 24, 2017. Main stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre).
