ALEXANDRINSKY THEATRE ENCYCLOPEDIA PRESENTATION
On August 30, 2020, a newly-released ‘Alexandrinsky Theatre Encyclopedia’ was presented in the Tsar’s Lobby of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.
The edition was presented to the public and press by the Deputy Artistic Director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre, professor Alexander Chepurov. This is the first ever encyclopedic edition that provides most detailed and profound collection of Russia oldest state theatrical company’s actors’ and directors’ biographies from its foundation in the XVIII century, to date. Documents from archives, museums and right from the Alexandrinsky Theatre’s collections were the basis for the Encyclopedia. Over fifty authors took part in composition of the book - members of country’s largest scientific and cultural institutions, renowned Russian scientists and young theatre historians.
