Andrey Mikhailovich

Director

Graduated from SPGATI (now RGISI) in 1998 (course by V. M. Filshtinsky). 

From 2002 to 2007 — the founder and head of the workshop of the St. Petersburg Theatre on Liteiny. The first performance of the workshop, Oedipus Rex, brought the director fame and was awarded a special prize by the jury of the Russian National Theatre Award and the Golden Mask Festival (2003), as well as the Golden Sofit, the highest theatre award in St. Petersburg, in the category of Best Directing (2002).

Artistic director of the M. Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre (2007-2009).

Between 2010 and 2013, he actively collaborated with the G. A. Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theatre. He directed the plays "The Summer of One Year" by E. Thompson, "The Innkeeper" by C. Goldoni, "The Inspector General" by N. V. Gogol, and "The Cripple of Inishmaan" by M. MacDonagh. Chief Director of the Novosibirsk State Drama Theatre "Old House" (2017-2023). Artistic Director of the Novosibirsk State Academic Theatre "Krasny Fakel" since 2023.

As a stage director, he worked in theaters in Moscow, Riga, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Oryol, and Perm. At the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, Andrey Prikotenko directed his fifty-first production for the professional stage, Oblomov (2025), based on the novel by Ivan Goncharov.

Awards and prizes:

- Golden Sofit in the category "Best Directing" for the play "Oedipus Rex" (2002). Special Prize of the Russian National Theatre Festival and the Golden Mask Awards

- The play "Tartuffe" by the Novosibirsk Red Torch Theater was recognized as the "Best Ensemble Performance" at the Siberian Transit Regional Theater Festival (2006), a diploma winner of the Golden Mask National Theater Award (2007) in the nominations: "Best Performance", "Best Director", "Best Artist", "Best Male Role" (Igor Belozerov and Vladimir Lemeshonok — Orgon), winner in the nominations "Best Set Design" and "Best Male Role" (Igor Belozerov — Tartuffe) at the Novosibirsk theater competition "Paradise" (2006)

- Oleg Sheinets Prize for the Artistic Implementation of a Performance at the IV All-Russian Festival of Russian Comedy in Rostov-on-Don (Chekhov. Vaudeville)
