The literary basis of the monodramas of the actress Olga Belinskaya and the director Elizaveta Moroz compiled the diaries of Olga Berggoltz. Records from different years: early, 1939-1949 and later.

Olga Fedorovna Berggoltz (16 (3) May 1910 - 13 November 1975) - poet, voice of the siege of Leningrad. The author carved on the memorial of Piskarev the graveyard inscription «Here lies the Leningrad people...», whose lines «No one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten» entered into the memory of the people. The man of his age, his country and tragic fate.

Diaries reveal other perspectives of her personality, character, life. Berggoltz kept them more than half a century, from 1923 and almost to the end of life. 70 notebooks. Readers first saw selected fragments of them years after the author’s death in magazine publications 1990-91. In 2010, by the 100th anniversary of the poet’s birth, the scattered publications were collected into a book edition, which included a number of other documents. The book’s appearance was an event. In 2015, diaries from 1941 to 1945 were published for the first time. The first scientific publication of a complete body of diaries, without editorial and censorship distortions was completed only by 2020.

By referring to the diaries in the play, it is not a formal biography that emerges, but a living emotional portrait of the heroine, acutely sensitive to the era and experiencing deep personal feelings against the background of historical time, a drama of a private man. The story of fate is not presented here linearly, not in chronological order, but in the interpenetration of different times and events, in the many voices of thoughts and feelings of different years. The past and present are mixed in a single stream. The play refers to an internal biography, divided into three voices, three hypostases of Leki - thus, a childhood name, Berggoltz herself called in the diaries. She is in romantic youth, in young years, in maturity.

«Leki’s Diary» - the first work of Elizaveta Moroz in Alexandrinsky Theatre. In the performances of this director, the music largely forms the structure and creates volumes. And one of the important expressive means in Olga Belinskaia’s performance is sound forms. Zones of silence, whispers, recitation, meditative vocals. Thus a personal and at the same time symbolic image is born, a woman-poet who has passed through difficult times and circumstances, having preserved her main purpose.

***

Elizaveta Moroz is a graduate of GITIS (workshop of Andrejs Žagars), curator of the theatrical direction of the Center for Culture and Arts «House of Radio». Laureate of the international competition of opera directors «Nano-opera». Worked at the Bolshoi Theatre and Moscow Musical Theatre. K. S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko. Produced performances in Saint Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm.
